Something Fresh: Adam Hood’s “Different Groove” Music Video!

Indie music label Little Dog just released a brand new music video of Adam Hood’s newest hit single “Different Groove”.

Now I must confess I didn’t even know of Adam Hood till now, but I really love this song.

It’s one of the great things I love about running this website: helps me discover more and more independent country music singers that I didn’t even know of.

Little Dog a record label is dedicated to an independent music spirit, operating outside the control and influence of the majors.

If you enjoyed this music, why not purchase “Different Groove” from Little Dog’s website… and help keep alive the indie music spirit.

10 New Country Music Albums Worth Checking Out

This year country music lovers have seen the release of quite a number of music albums. What’s your pick of the best country music albums release so far this year?

Sure, I have my own list, which I’ll share someday. But for now let’s hear what’s on a real professional’s list.

Craig Shelburne of Country Music Television (CMT) recently wrote an article listing his list for the year thus far. Here is a short quote from the article:

We’re about halfway through the year, so before I dive into another pile of new CDs, I’m moving a big ol’ stack to the file cabinet — except for these 10 albums released earlier this year, which I’d recommend to music fans with an adventurous ear. I have noted one of my favorite tracks from each selection, in case you want to download some tunes.

And finally, here is Craig Shelburne’s list of the 10 new country music albums worth checking out (album title in bold, and label in bracket):

  1. Matthew Barber, Ghost Notes (Outside Music)
  2. Hayes Carll, Trouble in Mind (Lost Highway)
  3. Kathleen Edwards, Asking For Flowers (Rounder)
  4. Griffin House, Flying Upside Down (Nettwerk)
  5. Lady Antebellum, Lady Antebellum (Capitol Nashville)
  6. Shelby Lynne, Just a Little Lovin’ (Lost Highway)
  7. Kathy Mattea, Coal (Captain Potato)
  8. Tift Merritt, Another Country (Fantasy)
  9. Justin Rutledge, Man Descending (Six Shooter)
  10. The Weepies, Hideaway (Nettwerk)

What do you think of these country music albums? Do you have your own pick of 10 new country music albums worth checking out? Why don’t you share them with us?

Great Video: Early Days of Shania Twain

As you probably know Canadian country singer Shania Twain is currently going through such a hard time with her marriage.

She’s even issued a public message to her fans out there on her official website about having separated from her husband.

Today I found this great video on Youtube of the very early days of Shania Twain.

I’m talking really, early Shania here: her first USA single, working the Nashville scene and learning to line dance. How does this grab you?

Thank you Shania Twain, for the music. Wish you all the best.

Welcome to Hit Country Music Cafe

After several months of procrastination, I’m finally here (well, almost here) with this new website - Hit Country Music Cafe. What is this? What am I really here to do?

Hit Country Music Cafe is a traditional website and blog. The blog section will feature the latest news and information about your favorite country musicians and bands, whereas the website will be a listing of complete discographies of the greatest country musicians.

The great thing about this new website is that all music listings will feature not just lyrics (like most music sites do), but you’ll also get music video and audio that you can play back instantly in this website, along with tips on where to get free downloads legally.

Let’s get started now.
